Education: Action Plan in Designing Classroom Materials
Teaching is a science and art combined
I love teaching because of the constant challenge and learning I get from my everyday experience in the classroom. I am very reflective as a teacher. Whenever I design material or activity, I always observe how my students are learning, if they are having difficulty, or if they are being challenged. I also love to listen to my students' feedback. I always make sure to ask them how they felt during and after the activity. I believe this feedback helps me to become a better educator. I know that every learner has different ways of learning to be motivated, thus, I make sure to design activities that would cater to all their needs and therefore, develop challenge and excitement in the classroom. I love to show my students' progress, therefore, giving them constant feedback is very important to me, from the one-on-one conversation and even by appreciating their small progress. I also make sure that I return their exercises, such as writing or everyday grammar practice so they will see how they are improving, and make sure to let them know that I am always willing to help them.
I also believe in collaborating with other teachers, carers, parents, and management in the school. Helping students develop is also providing them with a healthy environment around them. I am always happy to communicate and help parents by giving them accurate feedback on their children's performance in class, and how we can help them improve and develop skills at home. Also by collaborating with my fellow teachers, I am not only sharing my knowledge and skills with them, but I also gain from their experiences and can apply some techniques in terms of managing the classroom, developing materials, etc. Working well with management is very important to me. I am always grateful for their support to the teachers, and therefore, giving them the same support is vital, especially when it comes to following the policies, goals, and missions of the school to provide a high standard of education to its students.
Moreover, I am a teacher who always wants to stay on top of technologies, trends, and even histories, to ensure that students are always learning something new and incorporating it into our lessons, therefore, getting students to be more motivated and finding relevance to their learning.
